My senior year...

A busy, productive summer only leads to an even busier, more productive school year.

My senior year at Purchase College has just begun a few weeks ago and already I feel that I am more involved in the Arts than ever before. I have recently been campaigning to run for the position of Senate for the School of the Arts on our Student Government (PSGA- Purchase College Government Association). The campaigning paid off and I have been elected as one of 6 Senators to represent the School of the Arts here at Purchase College. My main duties include working as a leis-son between faculty, administrators and students as well as determining what projects through out the year should be given money from the Mandatory Student Activities Fee that all Purchase students are required to pay with their tuition. My first meeting is this upcoming week with the other senators, administrators and staff of the PSGA. I am happy to be starting a new chapter and I will do my best to advocate for Arts Management majors as well as all majors in the School of the Arts.

Below is a brief statement that I was asked to submit for the ballot:
" I am pleased to have the opportunity to run as a candidate for the senate to represent the School of Arts. I am an Arts Management major and am currently in my senior year at Purchase College.
I have worked hard to help students/organizations on campus receive funding/publicity through my marketing, producing and promoting skills learned through the Arts Management department. I believe the Arts Management major has a lot to offer to students on campus and I intend to support and represent the students and faculty in the most personable and professional way. I plan for future Arts Management students and those groups who collaborate with the department to stay informed and supported by the school through their time here at SUNY Purchase College.

When you cast your votes for Senate elections, please select my name as [1] - your first preference, so I can continue protecting the interests of Arts Management majors and The School of Arts. Please make me your choice because:
1. I'm not afraid to argue difficult positions, and I'm not afraid to take strong steps to make sure that your position is heard. I’m not interested in easy, rushed decisions. I want all angles to be covered so that all parties involved are given equal opportunity.
2. Although we as a community don't always agree on issues, I have good working relationships with most of the professors in the Arts Management department and PSGA President. When I speak, I will be listened to.
3.  I am dedicated to the interests of the student body. I have been fortunate to have a positive experience as a student at SUNY Purchase. I want to ensure all students the same standard.
4. Updates on policies through social media! (@Frankoletsgo)

Look forward to your help,

Frank F. Oleszko "
